Our fearless commitment to our craft spans multiple generations.

Originally from Lucca, Italy, our family consists of myself and my brother, two former MLB players, my dynasty-creating parents, and many passionate stewards of America’s favorite pastime. We eat, sleep, and breathe baseball. The field is where we belong.

Over the years, we’ve had to master the art of failing with grace. We’ve learned there is no success without grit. We were each bred with a championship mentality, and we’ll do whatever it takes to win. That’s the cornerstone of Luccini.

How It All Began

1907

Pete Cecchini lands at Ellis Island from Lucca, Italy at 3 years old. Shortly after arriving, Pete’s family moves to Los Angeles, where he grows up and eventually marries a fellow Italian immigrant from the same ship all those years ago. Pete vows to always be a business owner, never an employee. Over the next several decades, Pete will create a multi-generational family of entrepreneurs with inherent business savvy.

1966

Glenn Cecchini, grandson of Pete, falls in love with baseball at Dodger Stadium. Even at age 5, Glenn will forever remember the moment baseball sweeps him off his feet. Pete, a beloved patron and season ticket holder for over 20 years, and Glenn attend a game together at the height of Sandy Koufax’s career. Glenn is in awe of the environment, the sounds, and the way his grandfather interacts with the players. He never wants to leave.

1979

Glenn moves to Louisiana to attend the University of Louisiana-Lafayette on a baseball scholarship. There, he meets Raissa Prince, a star Division I point guard and future championship coach. They decide to get married and move to Lake Charles to pursue their passion for education and coaching near Raissa’s hometown.

1991

Garin Cecchini, Gavin’s older brother, is born. At this time, the Cecchini’s are already becoming successful high school basketball and baseball coaches in the Lake Charles area.

1993

Gavin is born into what feels like his destiny. He spends his childhood days napping in dugouts and traveling with high school sports teams. He quickly learns to thrive off the energy of the field.

1998

Glenn and Raissa begin their coaching dynasty at Barbe High School in Lake Charles, developing several future major leaguers, including Gavin and Garin. The Cecchini’s go on to bring 12 state titles and four national titles to Barbe High School and become 5x National Coaches of the Year.

2006

Gavin represents Louisiana in the Little League World Series. As he walks out to take the field for the first time, he is entranced by the excitement in the air. In that moment, under the lights, he realizes he’ll work as hard as he needs to in order to play on the big stage every day.

2009

Garin represents Team USA for the first time in the Pan-American Baseball Confederation Championships in Venezuela. The team wins a gold medal after beating Cuba in the final game.

2011

Following in his older brother’s footsteps, Gavin joins Team USA to compete in the same tournament Garin competed in two years prior. Like his brother, Gavin takes home a gold medal from Colombia and adds another piece of championship hardware to his collection.

2012

After his tireless commitment to training throughout high school, Gavin opts to forgo college offers and enter the MLB Draft. He is drafted 12th overall by the New York Mets as an 18-year-old shortstop with a bright baseball future.

2014

Garin makes his MLB debut for the Boston Red Sox after years of injury recovery and several appearances in the minor leagues. Gavin and Garin will have an opportunity to play against each other once during their tenure in the majors, accomplishing a lifelong goal for the Cecchini family.

2015 & 2016

Glenn decides that it’s his turn to represent the Cecchini’s on Team USA. He manages the team to back-to-back gold medals, adding a third and fourth international medal to the household.

2017

Gavin hits his first MLB home run off of future Hall-of-Famer Clayton Kershaw at Dodger Stadium, where Glenn used to accompany his grandfather to games. Gavin has several friends, his parents, and other family in attendance at that game to witness and celebrate the emotional moment.

As a U.S. and Italian dual-citizen, Gavin is invited to join Team Italy and represent his family name in the World Baseball Classic. Wearing Italia proudly across his chest, Gavin makes his start in four critical games before the team’s elimination in the first round of the tournament.

2019

Gavin returns to Team Italy for the qualifying rounds of the 2020 Summer Olympics. Despite Gavin’s contributions to the team in the preliminary round, Italy falls short of reaching the Olympic tournament by only one game.

2021

After a ten-year career, Gavin chooses to leave professional baseball behind in pursuit of business ventures, and he returns home in hopes of impacting the community that helped him build the career he had. He sets out to share his professional experience with aspiring players in youth and high school sports as a way of motivating them to keep their dreams alive.

2022

Luccini is born. Gavin decides that every player deserves the major league experience, regardless of what their future might hold. He teams up with former pros, coaches, and elite product designers to help amateur players feel like the pros.
